We want to be transparent about the collection and processing of your data, via our website or our photo booths, and make every effort to comply with data protection regulations (GDPR, in force since 25 May 2018 in all 28 EU Member States).

What data does Burddy collect and how is it used?

When visiting our website :

When using our website, we use cookies, which are files that are saved and stored by your browser in a dedicated space and for a limited and defined period of time. These files enable us to memorise certain information, such as the information entered in a contact or connection form for example, so that you do not have to retype it the next time you use the site. They can also be used to track the site’s audience, to optimize sharing on social networks or to display advertising that is more targeted according to users’ interests. Some of these cookies are essential for the proper use of the site, but you can still choose to deactivate them individually or as a whole via the cookie panel that is displayed when you arrive on the BURDDY site. Cookies do not in any case allow you to identify yourself directly and remain accessible only through your web browser.

We collect certain personal information when you request a quote, namely your first name, surname and e-mail address, as well as a postal address in the event of a request for a quote with address, and telephone number if you have provided it. This personal information is not passed on to third parties and is only used to prepare your quote. We also use your e-mail address to send you advertisements about our products if you have accepted it.

Finally, we use your e-mail address, and optionally your first and/or last name when you fill in our contact form via the online chat for an information request. This data is used by our helpdesk team to contact you and answer your request.

When renting a photo terminal by yourself from our website :

When you rent a Burddy photo booth, you must create an online account from the Burddy website. You then have the possibility of registering through your Facebook account, or by entering an email address and password. By choosing to register via your Facebook account, Burddy will have access to your personal photo, your email address as well as your first and last names. Once your registration has been validated, you will access your online customer area and you will then be able to complete your profile: first and last name, e-mail (already filled in thanks to your registration), telephone number, address, postcode and city, date of birth. This information is necessary for us to establish your rental contract and your invoice, as well as for the delivery of the terminal. You are not obliged to fill them in immediately, but you will be asked for them when you make your rental request. This data is not sold to third parties at any time. We will use your email address and telephone number to send you important information about your rental, as well as to provide you with the link to your secure photo gallery once the event is over.

When using our photo booths :

>> As part of a private event organized by you :

When using our Burddy photo booth, photos taken during the event are stored on the machine and processed when the box is returned to us. We then make them available to you via a secure online gallery, accessible via a link and a unique password. The photos are then deleted within a maximum of 3 months and the gallery remains accessible for a period of one year. During this period you can download and share them freely. Once this period has elapsed, the photo gallery is permanently deleted from our servers. You will receive an email one month before the expiry date, then a second one a week before to warn you. Once the date has passed, it will no longer be possible to retrieve them. We use your email address to communicate important information concerning the rental of the terminal (schedules and information about delivery and return of the terminal, creation of your online gallery at the end of your event …), as well as for promotional emails from Burddy unless you object. You can also unsubscribe from our mailing list at any time, thanks to the link at the end of our e-mails. Your digital peace of mind is important, so don’t hesitate to contact us if you receive unwanted communications from us!

>> During an event for a professional client (trade fair, company party, shop, supermarket...) :

When you use a Burddy kiosk for a promotional or professional event, you take a picture of yourself and then you can retrieve the printed photo. Usually you are asked for an email address before you can print your photo. The e-mail addresses you provide are sent as a file to the customer, who can then use them in promotional e-mails for his brand or partner account if you have accepted it (request when sending the e-mail to the terminal). In most cases, you will still be able to unsubscribe from the email distribution list, thanks to the mandatory link at the end of the email. If this is not the case, please contact the customer directly. Burddy cannot be held responsible for the customer’s actions.
The customer will also have access to the answers provided during a survey or survey, with access to your email address. You will be able to refuse any marketing solicitation on their behalf by ticking the appropriate box.
We will always ask for your free and prior consent for the use of your personal data for marketing purposes by our customer, or to use your photo (on social networks or on the customer’s site). By your consent, you irrevocably waive any claim and economic compensation for the use of your photo by our client.
The client will have access to all the photos taken once the event is over, via a secure online gallery or on external support (usb key).

Who has access to your data?

During a personal event organized by you, you have access to all the photos taken via your online gallery. During a professional event (photobooth animation in a shopping mall, a trade show, a concert…) the organizer of the event (our client), also has access to all the photos taken, as well as to the e-mail addresses provided and possibly to the answers to the survey questions if it is activated. Our technical team in charge of preparing the photo terminals and photo galleries as well as our delivery people can also access your personal data (photos, customer details), as can our helpdesk teams who answer your questions and the entire operational team. We want your data to be processed only by the people concerned by the service in question, and take particular care to secure all such data.

Where is your data hosted?

Our website and all related data (customer accounts, event photos…) are hosted by Amazon Web Services (AWS), on secure servers located only in the European Union, and we do not transfer any personal data outside the EU. Your customer data is kept for varying periods of time depending on the nature of the services offered (1 year for photos and requests for quotes, 10 years for invoices and delivery notes).

What rights do you have?

You have the right to access, rectify, delete, oppose and limit the processing of your personal data, as well as the right to the portability of your data. We are also obliged to provide you with clear, transparent and comprehensible information on the use of your data and the rights you have. For any further information, you can contact us via e-mail
